My name is Todd Covington and I would like to welcome you to my new website, www.LowcountryProperties.com . After years of hard work, research, and waiting for my wife to graduate from MUSC in Charleston, I finally launched Lowcountry Properties. I am very proud of how the site turned out, and hope home buyers and sellers will find it to be the ultimate resource when exploring the Beaufort, South Carolina real estate market.
My first job as a real estate agent was at Coldwell Banker Latorre in Charleston, South Carolina. As many know, starting a career as an agent is no easy task. Those outside the world of real estate might not realize, but 95% of real estate agents quit and move on to other careers within the first year. Why? Because acquiring listings and finding buyers is much tougher than one may think. New agents are often in competition with agents who have no desire to help the new guy/girl take some of their business. Honestly, I don't blame them.
Okay, once I figured out that I was pretty much on my own, I decided to see what best of the best agents were up to. The one common thread all great agents seem to have was a real estate website which generated leads, exposed their listings, and made them accessible to the public on a large scale. My research, combined with an article I read from Realtor.org "The Internet and Pictures: Worth 1,000 Words? ", convinced me that the internet was not only today's real estate agent's best friend, but the future of the real estate in general. Nothing is ever a sure thing but a website seemed the closest thing to it.
In April, I contacted a web design company to get started. Yes, that was 6 months ago. A plain Jane website is simple task, but I wanted more than the run of the mill site. I just didn't realize how hard developing a truly great website was. While at times I felt like quitting, I now understand so much more about websites, and the last 6 months has provided the ground work for a hopefully bright future in real estate.
In closing, I hope this website generates as many leads as I can handle and gives the ultimate in exposure for those who trust me to sell their homes or land. A website is only as good as the agent behind it. In the many years to come I hope to improve my site and give my customers the outstanding service they are entitled to. If you are reading my first blog, thanks for looking. Whether you choose me or another agent, I wish everyone the best when it comes to success in real estate. My website is completely free to use so help your self. If you ever have any questions, please contact me. I am always here to help.
