Somerset Point Offers Well-Built Homes at Affordable Prices

For a Realtor, there are few things as satisfying as a golf cart ride through one of Beaufort, SC's thriving new community, on a cool December evening, just before the sun dips below the horizon.
I had a blast showing property the other night at Somerset Point, a terrific neighborhood along the Coosaw River. Somerset Point has been one of 2011's true real estate success stories in Beaufort. According to statistics provided via the Beaufort Multiple Listing Service, there have been 17 homes which have either sold, or gone "under contract," since Jan. 1 of this year. Demand has been so great for homes in the neighborhood that the development team is adding additional inventory of "spec" homes, so that buyers will be able to move into their new homes sooner.
And no wonder. The development team is quickly establishing a reputation for delivering quality homes at an affordable price. In addition to showing property at Somerset Point this week, my partner and I have helped two other families purchase homes in Somerset Point in recent weeks.
Base pricing begins at $199,000, and goes as high as the mid-$270,000 range. As with any new community, there are a variety of options which determine how much you spend. But, let me tell you that the base-priced homes are well-appointed, with hardwoor floors, beautiful cabinetry and counter tops, and hardiplank siding.
Somerset Point is located on Lady's Island, one of Beaufort's main residential hubs. The community is an easy 10 to 15 minute drive from shopping, restaurants, and historic downtown Beaufort, SC.
The formula for the Somerset Point development team's success seems pretty straightforward -- deliver well-built, attractive homes at an affordable price. And do it with a smile, and a cheerful attitude.
Lady's Island is one of the most sought-after residential locations and is supported by a terrific school system. Lady's Island is home to Beaufort waterfront properties, and is an attractive spot for families with children, individuals as well as married couples.
