It is possible to visit Beaufort, SC, a dozen times and see Land's End. Most visitors to Beaufort tend to enjoy our downtown area, including the quaint shops and restaurants along Bay Street, and the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Par. Land's End is a little harder to find, even though it is less than 30 minutes from downtown Beaufort. Land's End is less of a destination than some of our other areas, and not a place you are likely to stumble upon.
This is why Land's End is so popular coming to Beaufort in search of a second home, or a vacation getaway. Land's End has a feel like Beaufort might have had years ago. Land's End enjoys a peaceful setting.
Land's End sits on the southern end of St. Helena Island, one of Beaufort's most beautiful barrier islands. The area overlooks Hilton Head Island, and sits on Port Royal Sound, and even has it's own public beach area.
If you are searching for a home, Land's End has variety with a capital "V." There are currently seven homes available in Land's End. These offerings include everything from a double wide trailer listed at just under $70,000, to a waterfront home listed just under $450,000. This home enjoys a private dock.
The median asking price on this end of St. Helena Island is just under $200,000.
Two homes have sold this year in Land's End. One waterview home sold for $265,000 home, while a home on Port Royal Sound sold for $550,000.
If you are looking to purchase a lot on which to build your dream home, Land's End has plenty of opportunities. Interior homesites begin at just under $30,000, while a deep-water site can be had for under $400,000.
As we mentioned, Land's End has become somewhat of a second-home mecca for residents of areas like Augusta, GA, along with Greenville, Florence, and Aiken, SC. Residents of these areas can drive to Land's End in about three hours, making it an ideal spot to purchase a vacation home.
