Beaufort SC Homes Offer Plenty of Wow Factor

We are seeing more and more properties in the Beaufort and Lowcountry area that have that wow factor. A home or homesite possesses the wow factor when it is listed -- or sells for -- a price which you just wouldn't have imagined a few years ago.
For instance, earlier this week, a 3000-plus square foot tidal creek home on Lady's Island, one of Beaufort's best residential areas, went under contract for less than $525,000. Just a short while ago, this Pleasant Point home would have been likely listed in the mid-$700,000-range. And it is very easy to envision this home valued in that same price range when the market strengthens again. And, friends, bear in mind that $525,000 was merely the asking price. At that price, it already had the wow factor, but who knows how much it sold for.
Pleasant Point is a wonderful community on Lady's Island, about 15 minutes from historic downtown Beaufort. The community is set to christen its brand new community pool, and, although the golf course is currently closed, residents are hopeful to have it back up and running in a very short period of time.
43 Ridge Road is another home with that wow factor. This waterfront home had been listed for almost $1.3 million just a couple of years ago, and has upgrades you won't believe. This Ridge Road home is located on Cat Island, one of Beaufort's best communities. And Ridge Road is considered by many to be the premier street on Cat Island. This home has a built-in coffee maker that would put the local coffee shop to shame.
Cat Island is located just minutes from downtown Beaufort. The Sanctuary golf course is located in the heart of the island.
We are seeing homesites with the wow factor as well. On Distant Island, one of Beaufort's premier deep-water communities, we have seen deep-water homesites sell for under $500,000, with a dock already in place. These homesites were selling upwards of $800,000 just a few years ago, and will almost certainly sell in that price range again.
There are condos in Beaufort's historic Old Point area that possess the wow factor. In particular, there was a condo recently listed for $225,000 which had sold just a few years ago for more than $350,000. The Old Point, through the years, had been one of Beaufort's most sought-after addresses. This area is so quaint and charming that Hollywood producers have sought it out and utilized it as the backdrop for well-known movies such as The Big Chill, Forrest Gump, The Great Santini, and The Prince of Tides.
From anywhere in the Old Point, the shops and restaurants of Bay Street are just a short walk away.
If you are looking for a property with that wow factor, it is out there, right here in Beaufort, SC. We'd love to help you find it. Don't hesitate to let us know what you are looking for, and we will be happy to help.
