Bailout for Realtors and Porn Industry? Huh???

I don't have a lot of time tonight but I wanted to comment of the proposed bailout for Realtors and other industries.
Yes, I'm a Realtor and the past two years have not been as great as the previous 14 before that. You know, it hurts. While it hurts now, I have a very funny feeling these bailouts are going to set a VERY poor precedent for the future. It seems like no one is being held accountable and the taxpayer has to pay the price.
In the past, when I have made poor financial decisions, I learned and made better decisions in the future. Bailouts are no more than a free pass for companies and individuals who made snap, uneducated decisions, with no thought about the future. Greed propelled many of these decisions and the government forgiving some of these loans could not seem more unfair. Maybe it tough love or what ever you might call it, but the market correcting itself, with no government intervention is best for us all in the long run.
While it's tough times, I wish more people would see that bailouts are no more than the same short term thinking that got us into this mess.
PS For those who don't know, the picture is of Larry Flynt, owner of Hustler.

I watched an interesting segment last night on 60 minutes about how the oil industry went crazy due to speculative buyers and investors getting their hands into it (Morgan Stanley owns more oil than Exxon through its subsidiaries supposedly) and it really made me wonder if that's what happened in the real estate market also - banks and individuals getting involved speculatively just in the hopes of making a profit which drove up prices - but the true demand for the suppy was not there.
